![]() iTunes 6 will then have no problem reading the new library file (you might need to drag and drop the library file into iTunes to get it to recognise the library - I can't remember whether it recognised the library file automatically when the program re-started or not). Just copy this data file to the "iTunes\\" folder and rename so as to remove the "YYYY-MM-DD" part. It will be called "iTunes Library YYYY-MM-DD". But there ought to be a back-up of this data file in the "Previous iTunes Libraries\\" folder. If you try to get iTunes 6 to read this file it will complain that it was created with a later version of iTunes. If your friend updated to iTunes 7 from iTunes 6, when you re-install iTunes 6 it will no longer be able to read the "iTunes Library" data file that's found in your "iTunes" folder (usually this is placed in "My Documents\\My Music\\" folder in Win XP. I'm back to using v.6.0.5.20, and it's working out great. (scroll down to post #5 for the links to the executables) I suffered through using iTunes 7 on my Dell for just over a week before I was fed-up with it and uninstalled it. ![]() Tell your friend that iTunes 7 is a piece of s*** (maybe the Mac version is fine). ![]()
